Following their recent international matches over the March break, Ghana's national football team, the Black Stars, saw a dip in the most recent FIFA World Rankings, indicating a change in their worldwide status.
The Black Stars played the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Cranes of Uganda during the international break. Nigeria was defeated, and Uganda and Nigeria ended in a 2-2 tie. Due to these results, Ghana's rating dropped; they are currently ranked 68th in the world, having previously been ranked 67th.
Ghana is still the 14th-ranked team on the African continent, where it was in the last ranking announcement, despite this decline. The top 15 African teams are still the same, with Nigeria, Senegal, and Morocco at the top of the standings.
Argentina is the undisputed leader in the world standings, with France and Belgium following closely behind, with Belgium having pipped England to the top spot. Notable moves include Colombia and the United States moving up two spots apiece and other teams moving up the rankings.
There have been noteworthy advances seen outside of the top 100 teams, with nations like as Indonesia, Afghanistan, and Libya seeing notable improvements in their standings. Not to be overlooked are Qatar and Comoros, which rose to the highest positions in the ranking to date.
On June 20, the FIFA/Coca-Cola Men's World Ranking will be updated once more, providing more context for the changing international football rankings.
