Nii Okai, a fellow gospel musician and friend, confirmed the somber news to myjoyonline.com, stating, "In the early hours of Sunday, April 21, 2024, KODA departed this world for heavenly glory. As we come to terms with this news, let us uphold his family in our prayers."


While specific details surrounding his passing were not disclosed, there are unverified reports suggesting that he succumbed to an illness he had been fighting.


At the age of 46, KODA leaves behind his beloved wife and three children.


KODA was a revered figure in the Ghanaian gospel music scene, a talented singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Takoradi in Ghana's Western Region.



His influence on Ghana's vibrant contemporary gospel music was profound, and he was celebrated with multiple awards for his dedication to spreading the gospel message and mentoring others in their musical pursuits.


KODA's production credits include work with notable artists such as the late Danny Nettey, Ps. Joe Beechem, Nii Okai, Halal Afrika, Eugene Zuta, among others.
